Sadly, most large company's don't care about your general well being. Whether that be your online usage, personal privacy or content not being flooded with targeted ads.
They don't care.
I started a personal journey in early august 2025 to regain control of my online life.
I want to control my privacy.
I want to control my online habits.
I want to control my products that I "own".
I regain control over these aspects of my life by rejecting convenience.
Convenience usually comes at a price,
It may not be a monetary price, sometimes is your data or your time.
I'm not cool with this, so I simply reject the convenience.
By using a flip phone rather than a smartphone, applications can't track my daily activities.
By using a web browser/search engine other and Google/Bing, they have a much harder time tracking my online activities.
By reading privacy policies, I can gauge whether it's worth it for me to start/continue to use the service.
This is a very long, rough, journey. This will not be achieved in the short-term.
I am continuing to better myself with major and minor changes in my life.
This way of life is not for everyone.
You may be okay with being tracked, companies knowing every detail about you (and selling that information for profit) and being fed targeted ads 24/7/365.
That's on you, and if you're okay with stuff like that, great!
But I'm not.
I do believe everyone should learn how these companies track you and how they handle/use/sell that data.
Read privacy policies.
Read cookie terms and conditions.
Be educated.
Don't let companies profit from you without your knowledge.
Reject Convenience.
